This will depend on if there is any remedial work required to make sure everything conforms with all relevant safety standards, such as positioning of pipework, the correct power supply or any other issues that sometimes arise. Can't I just install the cooker myself?
Working with gas is a job with responsiblity, and having gas work carried out by anyone unqualified or incompetent can be extremely dangerous.
It is illegal in the UK for a gas appliance or pipework to be installed by someone who is not a gas safe registered engineer.
Installing a gas cooker yourself will void its warranty and in some cases your home insurance policy. Gas cooker specialists take the safety of our customers seriously, which is why all gas work is carried out according to regulations and tested for leaks. After installation the appliance is checked to ensure that all safety devices are working and it is operating correctly.
